Text Box: “An advocate for our children”

Hello.

My name is Joe Grassi.  I am a 4th generation Cantabrigian and a proud product of the Cambridge Public Schools.  My wife Dawn and I are raising our two children in this community and they currently attend first grade and kindergarten at the Morse Elementary School.

I have had the honor of serving on the Cambridge School Committee for the past 14 years.  The hallmark of my work has been on improving academic achievement for all our students and creating a system of interventions to support students not achieving at grade level.  I have worked tirelessly to create a school system that is safe, professionally managed and fiscally responsible.

I am extremely proud of the progress that has been made the past several years.  I have a record of working with my colleagues on the School Committee and the Superintendent’s administration to bring about substantial changes and improvements to our school system.  I have been a source of stability, but have never been afraid to question practices and policies that are not meeting the needs of our children.

This election is extremely important to the future of our community.  I am asking that you view not just my experience, but to evaluate me on the accomplishments and improvements that have been made to the Cambridge Pubic Schools while I have served on the School Committee.  My experience, integrity and courage to challenge the status quo cannot be matched by any other candidate.

I am asking once again for your confidence and your support.  I am asking for your #1 vote on Tuesday, November 6th .
